SVP Marketing Strategy
Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. Who are we hiring?
The SVP, Sports Marketing will lead the marketing strategy, youth programs & fan development, and Retail Strategy for the MSG Sports business, inclusive of the New York Knicks (NBA), New York Rangers (NHL), Westchester Knicks (G-League) and Knicks Gaming (NBA 2K League). This role will be responsible for the development of each team’s brand strategy, grounded in data, research, and insights, and the implementation of the corresponding marketing plans, in support of each team’s revenue streams.
What will you do?
- Oversee the development of brand positioning, fan segmentation and growth plans, inclusive of youth fan engagement and development, for the Knicks and Rangers with a focus on the customer experience, customer data and the lifetime value of a fan.
- Oversee the development and implementation of team marketing strategy plans built on firm customer insights to achieve business goals as well as specific initiatives such as preseason build up, season launch, ticket sales, merchandise launches, playoffs.
- Oversee MSG Sports merchandise and product strategy, development and positioning for key distribution channels.
- Champion the voice of the fan across all consumer touchpoints, inclusive of communications and arena experience, maximizing the value proposition for the consumer and ensuring that the team brands are delivered consistently and to a high standard throughout.
- In partnership with the SVP Ticketing, develop a cohesive sales and marketing plan for the Knicks and Rangers, inclusive of plans, groups, and individual game tickets.
- Develop brand guidelines for all team brands and ensure we have a bank of approved assets that can be used throughout the business.
- In partnership with the Westchester Knicks and Knicks Gaming, oversee the development of a marketing plan for both teams, focused on ticket sales and fan experience for the Westchester Knicks and content for Knicks Gaming.
- Provide regular reporting to stakeholders against targets and KPIs and regularly communicate progress to the business.
- In partnership with MSGE Marketing, ensure the coordination of assets across all marketing functions (e.g., media and creative) with internal stakeholders
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
- 15+ years marketing experience with strong track record in digital marketing specifically
- Excellent understanding of the consumer journey and how to deliver a consistent brand experience.
- Creative thinker and ideas person with an ability to create non-traditional and disruptive marketing initiatives
- Strong understanding of all the elements involved in execution – insights, brand strategy, media, creative, and digital
- Ability to articulate and lead teams in a fast-paced, intense and highly-matrixed environment

- Nights, evenings, weekends and holidays required as needed in conjunction with MSG Sports franchises schedules and needs
