Who are we hiring?
The Copywriter for the New York Knicks will turn the energy, history, and culture of one of the world’s most iconic basketball franchises into words and ideas that connect fans and electrify New York City. The Copywriter will join our Brand Creative team and will be responsible for telling the story of the Knicks in ways that create cultural moments and lifelong memories.
What will you do?
- Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy for campaigns, promotions, and content.
- Develop headlines, taglines, scripts, and messaging for all forms of brand communications.
- Collaborate across departments to develop ideas that deepen the Knicks’ connection to the city.
- Review and edit submissions from other marketing team members and external freelancers to ensure the writing is engaging and compelling, error-free, and on-brand.
- Shape activations, experiences and stories that electrify fans in and out of The World’s Most Famous Arena
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience creating standout brand work in an agency or agency-style environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing originality and creativity.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and strategic thinking skills, with a sharp eye for detail, grammar, and tone.
- A passion for basketball, pop culture, and storytelling.
- An understanding of how to connect with a fan base and make ideas resonate with New Yorkers.
- A collaborative, positive team-player attitude with the confidence to run with projects independently.
- The ability to thrive under tight deadlines on fast-moving projects.
- Ability to work with cross functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
- Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.
- Ability to work both independently to trouble shoot and problem solve.
