New York, November 10, 2018 – The New York Rangers announced today that the organization will host Salute to Our Troops Night presented by Budweiser throughout their game on Monday, November 12 against the Vancouver Canucks at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers will pay tribute to the military in several ways as part of this special evening. Rangers players will wear camouflage jerseys and use camouflage tape on their sticks during warmups. The jerseys and sticks used in warmups will be autographed by players and available for purchase via Steiner Sports to benefit Wounded Warrior Project, which is a charitable partner of the Garden of Dreams Foundation. The jerseys and sticks, along with additional autographed items, will be available for purchase beginning on Tuesday, November 13 at 9:00 a.m. All Rangers players will also wear a U.S. Flag decal on their helmet during the game on November 12.

The Rangers’ game on November 12 is the first of five games this season in which the organization will honor and recognize the brave men and women in the Tri-State Area who have served or currently serve in the United States Armed Forces, as the Rangers and Budweiser will select one honoree per month during the regular season. The first Salute to Our Troops honoree this season is U.S. Army National Guard 1st Lieutenant Louis Edwin Allen, who was killed in the line of duty while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He will be represented at the game on November 12 by his wife, Barbara, and his four children. In honor of his son, Colin, the Rangers are proud to donate $10,000 to Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to families of fallen and disabled service members, for educational scholarships to support Colin and other students like him.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase Military-inspired items at MSG Team Stores beginning on November 12, including t-shirts, jerseys, pucks, and hats. Military members will be offered a 30% discount on their entire purchase by showing their military ID at MSG Team Stores during Salute to Our Troops Night. Rangers fans will also have the opportunity to purchase limited edition, Salute to Our Troops jerseys, designed and made exclusively by the Rangers’ equipment team. The 20 limited edition jerseys will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 12 at the MSG Team Store in Chase Square. Only one of the limited Salute to Our Troops jerseys can be sold per customer. A portion of the proceeds on all custom Military-Inspired item sales will be donated to Folds of Honor.
